CENTRAL, S.C. – The Chowan University baseball team fell to Southern Wesleyan in a Conference Carolinas matchup on Saturday afternoon.

The Hawks opened the scoring in the second inning with Rowan Hudson driving in Jackson Dunlap. Ryan Bellamy tripled to left center in the third, bringing in another run, then added an RBI single in the fifth. In the eighth, Warren Bailey doubled to center to bring in a run, followed by Hudson's RBI double to right.
Josh Wise got the start on the mound, taking the loss to fall to 1-3 on the season. He pitched three innings, striking out four while allowing five runs. Zackary Wilson, Konnor Tomczak, Alex Brown, and Josh Tripp combined in relief for the Hawks.
