MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Hawks baseball team traveled to face the Tornado in a Conference Carolinas matchup on Friday afternoon, earning a split in the doubleheader.

In game one, the scoring began in the second inning when Warren Bailey singled through the right side to drive in a run. Geomar Santana added another run in the second, grounding into a fielder's choice. In the eighth inning, Rowan Hudson singled to right center, bringing in another run. Jackson Dunlap and Ryan Bellamy each singled in the ninth inning, with both driving in late runs for the Hawks.
Taking the loss on the mound was Nicky Wohleking, who pitched five innings, allowing four hits, three runs, and striking out four. He was relieved by Dylan Nickle, Alex Brown, and Landon Tyndall.
The scoring in game two began in the third inning when Christopher Rumaldo singled to center field, driving in a run. In the seventh, Caden Rector delivered a single to bring in a run, and Rumaldo added another with an RBI single. Ryan Bellamy then singled through the left side, driving in two runs, and Rowan Hudson capped off the inning with an RBI single to right field, scoring another run.
Teray Cherry earned his first win of the season on the mound, pitching two innings, allowing just one hit, and striking out two batters. Angel Diaz started game two, pitching three innings and allowing three hits. He was relieved by Zackary Wilson.
