Box Score SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Chowan stretched their lead to 21-13 midway through the first half, but Barton scored eight straight points to even the tally at 21. The Bulldogs followed that with a 9-0 run, taking a 30-23 lead. Chowan fought back to regain the lead in the final four minutes and held a 41-37 lead at the break.

Barton pulled within two on two different occasions in the second half, but Chowan gradually pulled away down the stretch. The Hawks took a 78-68 lead in the final three minutes and held off a late Bulldog rally to take the contest 86-76.

Daylan Askew led Chowan with 23 points and five assists while RJ Wilson posted 22 points and 10 rebounds. Shawn Nelson led Barton with 28 points and five assists.

Chowan advances to face second seed Emmanuel University on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
