MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan University baseball team split their road Conference Carolinas doubleheader to Southern Wesleyan on Friday afternoon.

In Game One, Warren Bailey got the scoring started in the fourth with an RBI single. Elvis Rumaldo added a run on a wild pitch and an RBI single in the seventh. Jackson Dunlap followed with a two-run single, while Chris Rumaldo tacked on another RBI to cap off the scoring.
Senior Nicky Wohleking got the start, tossing four innings with three strikeouts while allowing just three hits. Dylan Nickle followed in relief for an inning before Matthew Lovett took over, striking out three to earn his first win of the season (1-0). Teray Cherry closed out the game to secure the victory for the Hawks.
In Game Two, Bellamy put the Hawks on the board in the first inning before delivering a clutch two-run double through the right side in the fifth.
Angel Diaz got the start in Game Two, pitching six innings while allowing seven hits and four runs, striking out seven. Cody Ives came in relief and took the loss, dropping to 0-1 on the season.
