MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The Chowan University men's lacrosse team dropped a road matchup to the Tusculum University Pioneers on Wednesday afternoon, falling to 0-4 on the season. The Hawks' offense began to heat up late in the game, but their late rally fell short as Tusculum went on to secure the win.

The Hawks collected 18 shots on goal with six of those shots getting off in the fourth quarter Chowan successfully completed 19 out of their 26 clear attempts in the match and won 16 total face-offs.Â
Jacob Malia led the Hawks' offense with four goals and an assist, firing off eight total shots, seven of which were on goal. Thomas Rohal, Treston Gatewood, Reed Low, Scott Cathcart, C.J. Hinton, and Seth Mackenzie each scored a goal for the Hawks.
Rocco Smith played 45 minutes in goal for the Hawks, recording 14 saves and allowing 16 goals. Corey Smith took over for the final 15 minutes, making two saves and giving up three goals.
