MURFREESBORO, N.C. –The Chowan University women's basketball team was defeated by the Mountain Lions in a tightly contested Conference Carolinas matchup on Monday night.

The Hawks scored nine second-chance points, 12 points in the paint, and eight points off turnovers. The game was a back-and-forth battle, featuring several lead changes and seven ties throughout the contest. Chowan finished with 36 rebounds and totaled 19 assists in a hard-fought effort.
Alexandria James-Fearon led the Hawks with 15 points and added three assists. Yasmine Brown contributed nine points, five rebounds, and seven assists. Nyeisha Savage was strong on defense, pulling down seven rebounds and recording four blocks, while also scoring eight points for the Hawks.
