CARY, N.C. – The Chowan University men's and women's swim teams returned to action for the final day of the Conference Carolinas Swimming and Diving Championships in Cary, N.C. After competing in the preliminary heats at 10 a.m., seven Hawks secured spots in the evening's finals, set to begin at 5:00 p.m.
On the men's side, Dimitrije Markovic, Robert Cabrera, and Aleksei Belolipetskii all advanced to Saturday's finals. For the women, Ariana Vizcaya, Atar Idrissi, Aislinn Kessinger, and Elettra Dalcerri earned their places in the finals.

THE RESULTS
The Saturday morning preliminary heats kicked off with the women's 200-yard backstroke, where Atar Idrissi placed 15th with a time of 2:27.62, earning a spot in the finals. In the women's 100-yard freestyle, Dalcerri finished 13th with a time of 55.32, advancing to the finals, while Kessinger also moved on, taking 16th place with a time of 55.69. Lina Danna clocked in at 57.31 for the event. Vizcaya advanced to the finals in the 200-yard breaststroke, placing 15th with a time of 2:49.22.
For the men's 100-yard freestyle, Belolipetskii came in 2nd with a time of 45.55, advancing to the finals, followed closely by Cabrera in 5th place with a time of 45.93. Jose Medina finished 18th with a time of 48.70, while Huascar Urbina placed 22nd at 52.93, and Ethan Moxey took 24th with a time of 54.23. Markovic advanced to the finals in the 200-yard butterfly, securing 7th place with a time of 1:59.20.
In Saturday's finals, Idrissi finished in 15th place with a time of 1:08.36. In the women's 100-yard freestyle consolation heat, Kessinger placed 16th with a time of 55.69, while Elettra Dalcerri took 15th, clocking in at 55.54. Vizcaya competed in the 200-yard breaststroke consolation heat, finishing 15th with a time of 2:48.55.
In the men's 100-yard freestyle, Belolipetskii advanced to the championship heat and finished in second place with a time of 45.14, while Cabrera followed closely behind, securing third place with a time of 45.24. Markovic competed in the men's 200-yard butterfly championship heat, clocking in at 2:01.30 for an 8th place finish.
The men's 400-yard freestyle relay team, consisting of Markovic, Medina, Belolipetskii, and Cabrera, earned a bronze medal with a time of 3:03.75.
