CARY, N.C. – The Chowan University men's and women's swim teams returned to action on day three of the Conference Carolinas Swimming and Diving Championships in Cary, N.C. After competing in the preliminary heats at 10 a.m., 10 Hawks secured spots in the evening's finals, set to begin at 5:00 p.m.
On the men's side, Ethan Moxey, Dimitrije Markovic, Jose Medina, Aleksei Belolipetskii, Robert Cabrera, and Huascar Urbina all advanced to Friday's finals. For the women, Ariana Vizcaya, Lina Danna, Atar Idrissi, and Elettra Dalcerri earned their places in the finals.

THE RESULTS
In Friday morning's preliminaries, the Hawks saw strong performances across multiple events. Dalcerri finished 11th in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 59.97, advancing to the B finals, while Aislinn Kessinger placed 23rd with a time of 1:05.76. Danna took 13th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 2:05.45, Vizcaya placed 16th in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:16.18, and Idrissi was 15th in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:08.36, all securing spots in the B finals.
For the men, Moxey finished 15th in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.52, advancing to the B finals. Markovic placed 3rd in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:41.40, securing a spot in the A finals. Medina was 12th in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:48.31 and also advanced to the B finals. Belolipetskii took 2nd in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 55.65, while Cabrera (12th, 54.19) and Urbina (15th, 58.20) moved on to the B finals in the 100-yard backstroke.
In the finals, Dalcerri finished 5th in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.24, Danna placed 5th in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:04.42, Vizcaya was 8th in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:15.85, and Idrissi came in 7th in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:08.00. Moxey took 7th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:00.36, and Medina won the 200-yard freestyle consultation heat with a time of 1:45.00. Urbina finished 7th in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 58.40, while Cabrera was 3rd with a time of 54.18. Markovic placed 3rd in the championship 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:40.82, and Belolipetskii earned runner-up honors in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 55.18.
