CU Swim Teams Compete in Day One of the 2025 Conference Carolinas Swimming and Diving Championships

CARY, N.C. –  The CU men's and women's swim teams traveled to Cary, North Carolina, to compete in the 2025 Conference Carolinas Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at the Triangle Aquatic Center on Wednesday afternoon.

CU participated in three events this afternoon. The Chowan women's swim team is currently in 7th place with 24 points, just behind Barton College. Meanwhile, the Hawks men's team sits in 6th place with 54 points, trailing the Barton Bulldogs, who have 59 points through event six.

THE RESULTS

In the Hawks' first event of the day, the women's 200-yard medley relay, Atar Idrissi, Ariana Vizcaya, Elettra Dalcerri, and Aislinn Kessinger teamed up to secure 7th place with a time of 2:00.01.

In their next event, the men's 200-yard medley relay, Huascar Urbina, Aleksei Belolipetskii, Jose Medina, and Robert Cabrera finished in 7th place with a time of 1:37.96.

To wrap up the day, the Hawks competed in the men's 800-yard freestyle relay, where Dimitrije Markovic, Robert Cabrera, Jose Medina, and Aleksei Belolipetskii secured 4th place with a time of 6:55.46.

UP NEXT

The Hawks men's and women's swim teams will return to action tomorrow, Thursday, February 20th, for day two of the Conference Carolinas Swimming and Diving Championships. The preliminary rounds will kick off at 10:00 a.m., with the finals following at 5:00 p.m. The first preliminary event, the women's 500 freestyle, will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the men's 500 freestyle at 10:25 a.m. Next up, the women's 200 IM at 10:41 a.m. and the men's 200 IM at 10:49 a.m., followed by the second women's 500 freestyle at 10:56 a.m. and the final men's 500 freestyle at 11:00 a.m. The evening's finals will begin with the women's 500 freestyle at 5:00 p.m.
