MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's Lacrosse team held their own in the first half, but a tough third quarter allowed Catawba to pull away for the win in Saturday's season opener.

CU won 13 face-offs and successfully completed 16 clears.

Seth Mackenzie paced the Hawks with a hat trick, tallying three goals in the match. Reed Low assisted on three goals for the Hawks. 

Justin Hill scored his first collegiate goal for the Hawks. Jacob Malia added an assist. 

Rocco Smith held down the net for the full 60 minutes, recording eight saves for CU.
