MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Conference Carolinas office announced its Week 5 Men's and Women's Basketball Players of the Week, with Chowan University earning recognition following the Hawks' two contests last week.

William Hynes was named Defensive Player of the Week after a standout performance on the defensive end, helping keep the Hawks within three points against Catawba and contributing to a 84-73 victory over Emmanuel.

The Offensive Player of the Week honor was awarded to Belmont Abbey College.

In two games last week, Hynes posted three steals and four blocks while averaging 4.5 rebounds per game. He posted three steals, one block and six rebounds against Catawba before registering three blocks and three rebounds in a win over Emmanuel.

Alhousseny Diallo | Belmont Abbey | Senior | Forward | Bamako, Mali
Diallo was big fore Belmont Abbey in their 70-67 win over Converse. He scored a career-high 25 points on 11-for-13 shooting from the floor. He also snared a season-high 11 rebounds for his third career double-double and first of the season.
