PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Chowan University volleyball team battled through four sets against UNC Pembroke, extending the match by taking the third set before falling 3-1 to the Braves. The contest remained competitive throughout, with the Hawks staying within five points in the opening set and just two in the second before earning a hard-fought 26-24 victory in the third. UNC Pembroke would close out the match in the fourth set. With the result, Chowan moves to 5-21 overall and 4-14 in Conference Carolinas play, while UNC Pembroke improves to 15-13 overall and 12-6 in league action.

The Hawks maintained an aggressive offensive rhythm, led by Nia Baskin and Anna Holcombe, who each tallied 10 kills. Alauna Wilson-Linn followed with eight, while Madison Henderson and Rosa Lynn Collier added seven apiece. Alexandra Liggeri directed the attack with a standout performance, recording 24 assists, while Brooke Hart added 18 to fuel the Hawks' offense.
At the net, it was a true block party for Chowan as the team combined for 12 total blocks. Henderson and Baskin led the effort with three blocks each, while Lyniah Lee, Collier, and Wilson-Linn each contributed two. Defensively, Diana Rodriguez anchored the back line with 24 digs, followed by Liggeri and Holcombe with 15 apiece. Wilson-Linn and Baskin were key on both sides of the ball, adding eight and seven digs respectively.
