MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Conference Carolinas office announced its Week 5 Swimmers of the Week, with Chowan University earning recognition following the Hawks' dual meet against Barton College on November 8. Dimitrije Markovic was named the Men's Swimmer of the Week after securing first place in all of his individual events and contributing to a first-place relay finish. His performance played a key role in leading the Hawks to a victory over the Bulldogs.

The junior from Krusevac, Serbia, placed first in the 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle, and the 200 freestyle relay. In the 200-yard freestyle, he posted a time of 1:52.10, finishing 14 seconds ahead of second place. He also dominated the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:58.34, again 14 seconds faster than second place. In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Markovic swam the third leg, helping the team secure first with a combined time of 1:29.87.
