CU Men’s Golf Closes Out Fall Season at Barton Fall Invitational

SNOW HILL, N.C. – The Chowan University golf teams finished the Barton College Fall Invitational at Cutter Creek Golf Course with two top-10 finishes. Gabriel Ansley led the Chowan A team, finishing the three-round tournament tied for 17th place (64 participants).

Chowan's A team was paced by Gabriel Ansley, who carded rounds of 74, 77, and 79. Ansley opened Round 1 with a birdie on hole 1 and added several clutch pars on the back nine to tie for 17th. Chance Lassiter recorded consistent rounds of 81, 82, and 82, highlighted by a birdie on hole 7 in Round 1 and a strong par on hole 16 in Round 3, finishing +29. Mika Buchholtz posted 78, 81, and 86, with steady pars on the front nine of Round 1. Adam Lankford added rounds of 77, 84, and 84, including notable pars on holes 10 and 12 in Round 1, while Bjoern Holt's performance featured a good front nine in Round 1 and clutch pars later in the tournament to end tied for 46th.

The Chowan B team also showcased a strong resilience over the three round tournament. Justin Peterson led the way with rounds of 79, 75, and 81, finishing T31 after birdies on holes 3 and 4 in Round 1 and steady par streaks on the back nine of Round 2. Bryce Koehler finished 36th, highlighted by a front nine par streak in Round 2. Harry Jones placed T40, with a strong back nine in Round 3 helping the B team's overall scoring. Jacob Kearney, who finished T46, had a standout birdie on hole 8 in Round 1, while Noah Stewart, recorded a birdie on hole 12 in Round 2 and ended 54th.

UP NEXT

The Hawks wrapped up the fall season with their final round of play at the Barton Fall Classic on Tuesday afternoon. The Hawks will take the rest of the fall and winter to prepare for their return to action in 2026 with the Spring Bulldog Clash hosted by Barton on February 23rd.
