SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Chowan University volleyball team fell in a Conference Carolinas matchup against Converse University on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks built momentum throughout the match, increasing their point total in each set and coming within three points in the third. With the setback, Chowan moves to 5-18 overall and 4-11 in conference play, while Converse improves to 16-6 on the season and 12-3 in league action.

The Hawks tallied 27 kills and 26 assists on the night, led by Anna Holcombe with eight kills, followed by Rosa Lynn Collier and Madison Kilgore with six apiece. Lyniah Lee added three kills, while Madison Henderson contributed two. Alexandria Liggeri directed the offense with a team-high 17 assists, and Isabella Kaplan added nine. From the service line, the Hawks totaled five aces, paced by Liggeri with three, while Jadyn Brown and Holcombe each contributed one.
Defensively, Chowan collected 46 team digs, with Diana Rodriguez leading the effort with 21. Holcombe followed with nine, while Liggeri added five, and Kaplan and Brown finished with four apiece. At the net, the Hawks combined for nine total blocks, led by Henderson with three and Kilgore with two, while Collier, Figueroa, and Lee each added one.
