MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan University volleyball team came up short against Emmanuel University on Friday evening, dropping a competitive three-set match. The Hawks battled throughout, keeping the first two sets within six points and the final set within three.
Madison Henderson turned in a strong performance at the net, denying multiple Emmanuel attacks that led to a season high in blocks. With Friday's results, Chowan moves to 5-19 overall and 4-12 in conference play, while Emmanuel improves to 15-8 on the season and 12-4 in league action.

Alauna Wilson-Linn and
Anna Holcombe led the offensive charge with eight kills each, while
Rosa Lynn Collier added five.
Madison Henderson and
Gabriella Figueroa chipped in three kills apiece to round out the attack.
Alexandra Liggeri and
Brooke Hart directed the offense, posting 13 and 12 assists respectively.
Defensively,
Diana Rodriguez had a team-high 16 digs, followed by
Jadyn Brown with nine and Holcombe with eight. At the net,
Madison Henderson dominated, tallying six solo blocks and two assisted blocks to record a match and season high.
Lyniah Lee contributed four blocks, while Figueroa and Collier each added three.
