FLORENCE, S.C. – The Chowan University men's basketball team came out on top in a thrilling Conference Carolinas matchup, defeating Francis Marion on the road Wednesday night.

The Hawks held a steady lead throughout the game, never trailing, and saw contributions across the board. Chowan hit 81.1% of their free throws. The Hawks forced 11 turnovers, leading to three fast-break points.Â
RJ Wilson finished with 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, recording a double-double in the game. Daylan Askew led the Hawks offensively with 30 points, surpassing Jaleel Nelson (1,369 points) to become the third all-time leading scorer in Chowan's history across all eras. Aaron Ross also contributed 16 points. Â
