Box Score 2 MURFREESBORO. – The Chowan University volleyball team split day two play in the Chowan University Invitational on Saturday. The Hawks dropped their first match of the day to Lincoln Memorial University in straight sets but bounced back with a 3-1 win over Elizabeth City State University in the nightcap. The Hawks four-set win gives first year head coach, Kellan Hollingsworth, his first collegiate head coaching victory.Â

The Hawks were paced by Lyniah Lee with 6 kills against LMU while teammate Alexa Wasil tallied 4 kills. Jada Caruthers tallied a team-high 4 blocks and Diana Rodriquez had 13 digs.Â
Vs. Elizabeth City State UniversityÂ
Alexa Wasil paced the Hawks offensive attack with 13 kills with Lyniah Lee trailing just behind with 11 kills. Anna Holcombe picked up 16 digs and 8 kills while Jada Caruthers tallied 4 blocks. Diana Rodriquez tallied 14 digs in the win.Â

The Hawks will hit the floor again on Friday, September 13th when they host the 2nd Chowan Volleyball Invitational. The Hawks are slated to open tournament play with Lander at 6:00pm at the Hawks Athletic Center.
