MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The Chowan University volleyball team fell to 2-7 overall and 0-2 in Conference Carolinas play after falling in straight sets to Belmont Abbey College on Saturday afternoon. The Crusaders improved to 3-6 overall and 2-0 in league play after the match.
Chowan battled with the Crusaders, even pushing them to a 27 point second set, but the ball didn't fall for the Hawks, and they picked up their second straight conference loss.

Alexa Wasil led the attack with 7 kills.
Jada Caruthers tallied 5 kills from the middle and
Alexandra Liggeri (10) and
Sydney Ginaitt (7) combined efforts to set up 17 Chowan attacks.
Jadyn Brown had 13 digs in the match. Wasil's kill tally moved to 75 on the season where she is currently getting off 2.42 kills per set to lead the offensive attack for the Hawks.

The Hawks will host the University of Mount Olive in a Conference Carolinas East Divisional match up on Wednesday at 6:00pm. They will hit the road on Friday for their first two-match road stand at Southern Wesleyan University and Erskine College.
