MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Chowan University Volleyball concluded the final day of the Chowan Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The team fell 3-0 to Auburn-Montgomery in their Saturday morning match. After a split Friday that included a 3-1 win over Virginia Union and a 3-0 loss to Lander, the Hawks ended the tournament with a 3-2 loss to Virginia Union University. Chowan moved to 2-5 on the season after Saturday's tournament losses.

Match 1 - In a challenging match against Auburn Montgomery, Chowan faced a 0-3 defeat despite a valiant effort across the board. Rosa Lynn Collier and Alexa Wasil led the attack with 6 kills each, while Lyniah Lee contributed 5 kills and made a strong defensive presence with 4 blocks. Anna Holcombe excelled on serves, delivering three aces in the match. Sydney Ginaitt orchestrated the offense with 12 assists, while Alexandra Liggeri added 9. Diana Rodriguez was the defensive anchor with 12 digs, complimented by Madison Armstrong's 9 and Anna Holcombe's 7.
Match 2 - Alexa Wasil paced the Hawks with 15 kills from the pins while teammates Lyniah Lee and Rosa Ann Collier posted 7 kills in the five set loss. Diana Rodruiquez tallied 14 digs as did freshman outside Madison Armstrong. Jadyn Brown and Anna Holcombe had 15 digs and 14 digs respectively.
UP NEXT
The Hawks will host a two-game home stand to open Conference Carolinas play on Friday September 20th and Saturday September 21st. Friday's match against Converse will be played at 6:00pm followed by Belmont Abbey on Saturday at 2:00pm.
