MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Basketball team used a strong third quarter to capture the Bobcats of Lees-McRae in the final regular season home contest in Conference Carolinas action on Saturday.

Tynasia Bunting broke the Chowan single-game record with 39 points on 12-19 shooting including 6-10 from deep. Bunting added nine rebounds and six assists. Bunting passed Chowan Hall of Famers, Talaya Lynch and CC Vaughan, for the single-game record (37).
Meara Carer, honored for senior day, posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Yasmine Brown added 13 points.
Chowan shot 66.7% from the field in the third quarter leading to 34 points. The Hawks outscored the Bobcats 56-28 in the second half.
