PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Basketball team could not overcome the cold shooting in the first half as the Hawks came up short against East Division Champion, UNC Pembroke in the regular season finale on Wednesday.

Chowan struggled in the first half shooting 8-31 (25.8%) from the floor to trail UNC Pembroke 34-21. The Hawks would bounce back to outscore the Braves 41-35 in the second half.
Tynasia Bunting led the Hawks with 19 points and nine rebounds. Sydney Roberts chipped in with 11 points. Desiree Askew hauled in a career-high 12 rebounds to go with nine points.
Kaleah Boykin and Imani Hickman tallied seven points each.

Chowan secured the fourth-seed in the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Championship. The Hawks will host the ninth-seed Southern Wesleyan and tenth-seed Barton on Sunday, March 3 and await the winner for a second-round meeting on Monday, March 4 at 5pm.
