GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Conference Carolinas released their Men's Basketball players of the week selections on Monday as the Chowan Men's Basketball program swept the selections.
Earning Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season was Daylan Askew. Askew posted 33.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.0 steals this week. The junior guard from Ahoskie, N.C. posted a career-high 39 points with five rebounds and three steals in the win over Barton. Askew's 39 points were a Chowan DII single-game record.
Askew wrapped up the week with 28 points against King including a game-winning three-pointer, his second game-winner of the season.
RJ Wilson collected Defensive Player of the Week honors after notching a double-double on the week posting 18.5 points and 11.5 rebounds along with 1.5 blocks and 2.0 steals per contest. Wilson posted a double-double with 11 rebounds and 11 points against Barton before concluding the week with a career-high 26 points with 12 rebounds, three blocks, and three steals in the win over King.
This marks the first time the Hawks have swept Conference Carolinas Player of the Week selections.
