Box Score 1 MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Softball team's rally came up short in non-conference action against West Virginia Tech on a rainy Sunday.
The second contest was called due to darkness in the top of the fourth inning.

Mckenzie Misenheimer posted three hits to lead the Hawks. Kyra Helton and Haleigh Reid picked up two hits each. Misenheimer and Helton tallied a double.
Sophia Medina and Hannah Moseley collected one hit apiece.
Haley Jensen pitched 4.2 innings in relief allowing four hits.
Chowan took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a throwing error. West Virginia Tech used three home runs in the third inning to score six runs.
The Hawks rallied in the bottom of the third with a run before picking up two runs in the seventh inning.
In game two, Chowan led 5-3 with three runs in the first and two runs in the second. Darkness halted play in the top of the fourth with two outs. The contest did not reach the point of official and will not be resumed.

Chowan takes some time off before hosting the Hawks Softball Classic March 1-3. The Hawks are scheduled to face Bowie State and Felician on Friday. First pitch is slated for 11am.
