MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan University women's basketball team secured a home victory over Elizabeth City State University in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon.

The Hawks maintained the lead throughout the match. They dominated on the boards, collecting 58 rebounds (29 offensive, 29 defensive). CU outscored their opponents with 27 second-chance points and 28 points in the paint. Chowan's bench contributed 27 points, edging out Elizabeth City State's 26.
Desiree Askew knocked in a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Yasmine Brown was right behind, contributing nine points, three rebounds, and six assists. Meara Carter also had an impressive outing, adding nine points and pulling down eight rebounds.
