MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Basketball team used a strong fourth quarter to take down their league rival, Barton, 62-45, in Conference Carolinas action on Saturday afternoon.

Yasmine Brown paced the Hawks with a near triple-double posting 15 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds.

Desiree Askew and Nyeshia Savage posted a double-double with Askew notching 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Savage added 10 points and a career-high 15 rebounds.

The Hawks held Barton to 26.4% shooting on the afternoon including a 2-13 (15.4%) effort in the final stanza.

Chowan outrebounded Barton 61-30 with a plus-20 advantage on the offensive glass.
