SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Chowan Women's Basketball team held off Converse for the final four minutes to secure the road win in Conference Carolinas play on Saturday afternoon.

Tynasia Bunting led the Hawks with 18 points off the bench. Meara Carter posted a career-high 16 points on 6-10 shooting.
Desiree Askew and Imani Hickman added 10 points each as Askew added nine rebounds.
Chowan's defense held Converse to 1-9 in the final 3:25 of the contest after the Valkyries closed the gap to 59-57.
The Hawks shot 28.7% in the first half to trail Converse 29-28.
