SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Chowan Men's Basketball team held Converse to a season-low shooting percentage while Cheick Traore etched his name into the Chowan record books in a lopsided victory in Conference Carolinas action on Saturday.

Cheick Traore hauled in his 507th career rebound early in the second half to claim the top spot in Chowan's Division II history in career rebounds. Traore recorded 11 rebounds on the night.
Daylan Askew posted his ninth 20+ point scoring outing of the season to pace the offense. Skyler Davies added 16 points to go with seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Aaron Ross added 13 points off the bench. Damerius Summers hauled in a team-high 13 rebounds.
Chowan held Converse to 21.4% shooting in the first half and a season-low 28.8% (17-59). The Hawks shot 45.6% (26-57) from the floor including hitting 11 three-pointers.
The Hawks cleaned the glass as well with a plus-28 on the rebounding margin (54-26).
Chowan improves to 7-1 on the road this season and their fifth straight road victory.
