MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Baseball team dropped the first two games of the series against Barton on Thursday afternoon.

Christian Bartholomew led the team with four hits. Aidan Feather collected three hits and two RBI.
Ethan Robinson notched two hits while Geomar Santana, Rowan Hudson, and Ty Johnson picked up one hit each. Santana and Johnson added two walks, while Hudson hit a solo home run.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One: Chowan 2, Barton 11
Barton would take a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning with a two-out rally.
Chowan cracked the scoreboard in the bottom of the fifth inning as Christian Bartholomew led off the inning with an infield single. Geomar Santana drew a walk before Aidan Feather delivered a RBI single down the left field line to close the gap to 3-1.
The Bulldogs took advantage of an error in the seventh inning to increase their lead to 5-1. In the bottom of the inning, Rowan Hudson led off with a solo blast to left field fto cut the deficit to 5-2.
In the top of the ninth, Barton added six runs to cap off the 11-2 victory.
Game Two: Chowan 1, Barton 7
Barton scored a pair of unearned runs in the top of the first to lead 2-0.
Christian Bartholomew started a rally in the bottom of the first with an infield single. Warren Bailey hit a single to left with two-outs prior to a single up the middle by Aidan Feather to plate Bartholomew to cut the deficit to 2-1.
The Bulldogs used a home run in the second inning to increase their advantage to 4-1. Barton continued to rally in the fourth inning scoring three runs off four hits to lead 7-1.
Warren Bailey nearly had a big fly to start the bottom of the fourth as the attempt was caught at the wall. The Hawks failed to score in the final three innings.
