BRISTOL, TENN. – The Chowan Baseball team could not hold an early lead in the series opener against King as the Hawks fell to the Tornado 7-5 in Conference Carolinas action on Thursday afternoon.

Chowan pounded out 11 hits compared to the home team's eight. The Hawks committed three errors.
Aidan Feather, Geomar Santana, Warren Bailey, and Rowan Hudson tallied two hits each. Ty Johnson posted two RBI while Santana and Patrick Krack added one each.
Chowan left 12 runners on base. Konnor Tomczak posted 2.2 innings allowing one hit and one walk in relief.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After a quick first inning, Chowan jumped on the board in the second inning as the Hawks loaded the bases on walks by Warren Bailey and Rowan Hudson along with a single by Jackson Dunlap. Ty Johnson doubled to left to plate a pair before a RBI single by Patrick Krack. Johnson would steal home to push the lead to 4-0.
King would close the gap to 4-3 in the fourth inning on three hits and a pair of walks. The Tornado took the lead in the fifth inning on a pair of hits to lead 5-4.
The Hawks would get a runner to third in the sixth before being left stranded.
The Tornado added to their lead in the sixth inning plating a pair on two hits to lead 7-4.
Two walks in the seventh had the Hawks in business before a double play ended the inning.
Chowan closed the gap in the eighth inning as Patrick Krack drew a walk and stole second. Krack would move to third on a ground out before Geomar Santana singled to plate Krack to close the gap to 7-5.
Warren Bailey doubled to lead off the ninth before the rally fell short.
