MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Jackson Dunlap's RBI single in the bottom of the eighth lifted the Chowan Baseball team to a 9-8 victory in the series finale against Emmanuel on Sunday.

Chowan led 8-1 after four complete innings. Jackson Dunlap paced the Hawks going 4-5 at the plate with one big RBI.
Aidan Feather, Geomar Santana, Christian Bartholomew, and Warren Bailey collected two hits each. Santana, Bartholomew, and Bailey hit a home run. Feather collected a triple.
The first five hitters in the line picked up all 12 hits for the Hawks. Jayden Bailey picked up the win in relief after 1.2 innings allowing one hit.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Chowan jumped out in front with three runs in the first inning as Aidan Feather started the contest with a triple down the left field line. Geomar Santana singled to plate Feather for the opening run. Warren Bailey hit a two-run home run to put the Hawks up 3-0.
Emmanuel picked up a run in the third on a solo home run before the Hawks responded with a solo blast by Geomar Santana in the bottom of the third. The Hawks loaded the bases in the inning but left them stranded.
In the fourth inning, Aidan Feather singled and Geomar Santana drew a walk before Christian Bartholomew hit a three-run shot to left center to lead 7-1. Chowan loaded the bases on base hits by Warren Bailey and Jackson Dunlap before Rowan Hudson was hit by a pitch. Jacob Walker produced a RBI sacrifice fly to push the lead to 8-1.
The Lions cut into the deficit in the fifth inning with a three-run frame to trail 8-4. Emmanuel added a run in the seventh before evening the score in the eighth with three runs, 8-8.
Geomar Santana started the rally in the eighth with a full-count walk before a single by Christian Bartholomew. Jackson Dunlap singled up the middle to plate Santana to give the Hawks a 9-8 advantage.
Emmanuel would get a runner to second before Jayden Bailey grabbed a pair of pop-ups to end the contest.

The Chowan Developmental team takes on Erskine on Monday, April 17 in Florence, S.C. in the Conference Carolinas Developmental Championship game. First pitch is slated for 6pm.
