MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Strong outings faded for the Chowan Baseball team as the Hawks dropped a twinbill against Emmanuel in Conference Carolinas action on Saturday afternoon.

Caleb Karie led the Hawks with four hits. Ty Johnson picked up three hits and two RBI. Jackson Dunlap, Rowan Hudson, Geomar Santana, Christian Bartholomew, and Warren Bailey tallied two hits each. Bailey hit a home run in game two and collected two RBI.
Patrick Krack tossed 2.1 innings in relief.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One: Chowan 5, Emmanuel 13
Chowan would take a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning as Christian Bartholomew hit a two-out double to left center before coming around to score on Warren Bailey's single to right.
Emmanuel answered in the top of the fourth with a run off two hits and an error.
The Hawks loaded the bases in the bottom of the fourth but a double play ended the threat.
The Lions took a 4-1 lead in the fifth inning before the Hawks rallied in the sixth inning. Caleb Karie singled to right to load the bases prior to Aidan Feather picking up a two RBI single to left to cut the deficit to 4-3. An error loaded the bases again but a pick off and a pop up ended the inning.
Emmanuel took advantage of two errors and five free passes to plate seven runs to extend their lead to 11-3 in the seventh inning.
In the bottom of the seventh, Jackson Dunlap singled before Rowan Hudson picked up a double to left center. Ty Johnson hit a single to left to plate the pair and cut the deficit to 11-5. Aidan Feather drew a walk to load the bases after a Caleb Karie single but was left stranded.
Emmanuel added two runs in the ninth inning to take the victory 13-5.
Game Two: Chowan 2, Emmanuel 7
Emmanuel would score a run in the first, second and fourth inning to lead 3-0 early.
The Hawks would get on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth as Rowan Hudson was hit by a pitch. A throwing error allowed Hudson to come around to score to trim the deficit to 3-1.
The Lions used one hit and four free passes to take a 6-1 lead in the sixth inning.
Warren Bailey hit a solo home run to right field in the sixth inning before the Lions scored a run in the seventh to finish off the scoring, 7-2.
