Jalal Leads Hawks To Big Win Over Lions

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's Lacrosse team used a career performance from Noah Jalal to cruise to a 17-6 victory over Emmanuel in Conference Carolinas action on Saturday.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE

Noah Jalal collected a career-high seven goals to lead the Hawks.  Eric George posted four goals and four assists to join Jalal with eight points.

Jaxon Martin posted three goals and two assists.  Erik Dozzi notched two goals, while Rylan Downey added a goal and an assist.

Harry Edwards, Zac Vereen, Noah Jalal, Camryn Snow and Nathan Townsend posted one assist each.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Noah Jalal would start his scoring early in the contest scoring an unassisted goal before finding Eric George on the man-up advantage to lead 2-0.  After an Emmanuel goal, George found Erik Dozzi to lead 3-1.

Emmanuel scored to open the second quarter before the Hawks scored four straight goals to lead 7-2.  Jaxon Martin started the scoring with a man-up goal from Eric George.  The duo would switch places to score with George posting his second goal.  Noah Jalal would score a pair of goals off assists by Camryn Snow and Nathan Townsend.

Emmanuel tallied their final goal of the half before Eric George found Noah Jalal on the EMO to lead 8-3 at the intermission.

Noah Jalal would start the scoring in the second half as Jalal would deke his defender and find the back of the net.  Eric George would score an unassisted goal to lead 10-3.

The Lions would find a goal before Jaxon Martin scored off an assist by Rylan Downey to conclude the scoring in the third frame, 11-4.

Chowan continued their scoring to start the fourth stanza as Eric George, Erik Dozzi, Rylan Downey, and Jaxon Martin found the back of the net in succession.  Zac Vereen and George would tally assists during the run to lead 15-4.

Noah Jalal finished up the scoring with a pair of goals off assists by Jaxon Martin and Harry Edwards.

UP NEXT

Chowan hosts Barton in a pivotal Conference Carolinas match on Saturday, April 8.  Opening face-off is slated for 3pm.  Senior Day festivities will happen prior to the contest with the Bulldogs.
