MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Baseball team dropped a non-conference contest to Lake Erie on Monday afternoon at home.

Aidan Feather led the Hawks with two hits, Geomar Santana, Carrington Williams, Jackson Dunlap, Ty Johnson, and Caleb Karie collected one hit each.
Ben Bausas pitched 2.2 innings in relief picking up two strikeouts and did not allow a run.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Lake Erie took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning as a pair of hits and an error allowed the runs to score.
Chowan rallied in the bottom of the third inning as Caleb Karie led off the inning with a double to left center. Geomar Santana reached on a bunt single. Aidan Feather drew a walk to load the bases before Christian Bartholomew hit a sacrifice fly to left. Santana would come around to score on a ground ball before Jackson Dunlap singled up the middle to give the Hawks a 3-2 advantage.
The Storm answered in the fourth inning plating three runs off four hits to regain the lead 5-3.
The Hawks would pull off a 6-3 triple play in the sixth inning to end a rally by the Storm.
LEC added four runs in the eighth and a run in the ninth to take the 10-3 victory.

Chowan returns to the field on Wednesday, March 8 as the Hawks host Emory & Henry. First pitch is slated for 1pm.
