DUE WEST, S.C. – The Chowan Baseball team finished off a Conference Carolinas series with Erskine on the road on Saturday afternoon.

Christian Bartholomew led the offense with three hits include a big fly. Tyler West collected two hits and two RBI. Ben Bausas went 2-3 at the plate with two runs scored.
Chowan left 10 men on base.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Erskine would take advantage of an error in the bottom of the first inning to lead 1-0. The Fleet added to their lead in the third with a two-run home run to lead 3-0.
Chowan cut into the deficit as Carrington Williams reached on an error. Jackson Dunlap tripled down the right field line to plate Williams before Tyler West hit a sacrifice fly to trim the deficit to 3-2 in the fourth.
The Fleet answered with an eight run fourth inning using an error to start the rally and extend their lead to 11-2.
The Hawks would cut into the deficit in the fifth inning as Ben Bausas singled up the middle to start the rally. Geomar Santana drew a walk before the pair moved up a base on a wild pitch. Carrington Williams drew a walk as Bausas scored on the ball four wild pitch. Tyler West singled in a run to trail 11-4.
Erskine tacked on three runs in the sixth and seventh inning to increase their advantage to 17-6.
Chowan would gain two runs in the bottom of the seventh as Christian Bartholomew hit a two-run home run after Ben Bausas drew a walk.
The Fleet finished off the scoring in the eighth inning with four runs, 21-6.

Chowan will return home to host Belmont Abbey in a Conference Carolinas series starting on Friday, March 31. First pitch of the series is slated for 3pm.
