GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Chowan Baseball team suffered a series loss on the road against Limestone in the final game of the series as the Hawks fell 15-4 on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Chowan would strike first in the top of the third as Geomar Santana opened the contest with a single to right.  Carrington Williams picked up a single to left before Warren Bailey loaded the bases with a base knock to right.  Caleb Karie brought in the run with a walk to take a 1-0 lead.
Limestone would answer in the bottom half of the inning as a bases loaded triple allowed the Saints to take the lead 4-1.
Ty Johnson opened the second inning with a base hit to center.  Johnson would come around to score on Patrick Krack's double to left field to cut the deficit in half, 4-2.
The Hawks would rally in the top of the fourth with a pair of runs to even the contest.  Ben Bausas reached on an error and moved to second on a wild pitch.  Bausas would move up 90 feet on a fly ball.  Geomar Santana picked up a walk before Tyler West scored Bausas and Santana with a double down the left field line.
Limestone answered in the bottom of the sixth as an error on a sacrifice bunt allowed the inning to continue as three runs scored on two hits, 7-4.
The Saints tacked on eight runs in the bottom of the eighth on off six hits and two errors to push their advantage to 15-4.

Chowan hosts Salem in a four-game series with a doubleheader starting on Saturday, February 11.  First pitch is slated for 12pm.
