CENTRAL, S.C. – The Chowan Baseball team ended their series against Southern Wesleyan on the wrong end of an 11-6 loss on Saturday afternoon in league action.

Carrington Williams paced the offense with three hits including a pair of doubles and two RBI.
Christian Bartholomew, Tyler West, Jackson Dunlap and Warren Bailey picked up two hits each. Bailey added a double. Bartholomew, West and Dunlap posted one RBI each.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Chowan would take an early 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning as Carrington Williams doubled to right center to open the frame. Caleb Karie drew a walk and Jackson Dunlap singled to load the bases. A double-play would plate a run for the lead.
Southern Wesleyan used two hits and a Chowan miscue to take a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the second inning.
The Hawks would cut into the deficit in the fifth inning as Ben Basuas drew a walk and moved to second on a wild pitch. Christian Bartholomew singled to left plating Basuas. Tyler West picked up an infield single before being left stranded.
SWU answered in the bottom of the inning with a four run inning off five hits to lead 8-2.
Carrington Williams opened up the sixth with a single up the middle. Caleb Karie singled down the left field line to send Williams to third. Jackson Dunlap hit a sacrifice fly to close the gap to 8-3.
The Warriors answered with a run in the bottom of the inning on an error and a hit to lead 9-3.
Once again the Hawks would rally in the seventh inning. Aidan Feather was hit by a pitch to open the inning and moved to second on a wild pitch. Tyler West produced a RBI single to right center before Warren Bailey picked up a single. Carrington Williams hit a sacrifice fly to plate West to cut the deficit to 9-5.
A pair of home runs in the seventh for the Warriors pushed the deficit to 11-5.
Warren Bailey picked up a two-out double in the ninth inning. Carrington Williams doubled home Bailey to cut the deficit to 11-6.
