HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Chowan Men's Lacrosse team battled back before a strong third quarter by Coker handed the Hawks an 18-11 loss in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.

Eric George paced the offense with five goals. Jaxon Martin tallied two goals and three assists. Noah Jalal collected three goals and one assist.
Hassan Davis was 10-15 from the face-off spot. Alec Rodopoulos posted 17 saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter:
Coker scored two goals in the opening frame to lead 2-0.
Second Quarter:
The Cobras would lead 5-0 before the Hawks were able to find the back of the net. Rylan Downey scored an unassisted goal to break the scoreless streak.
Eric George would find the back of the net before Noah Jalal assisted Jaxon Martin on a goal to cut the deficit to 5-3.
Coker would score before the end of the half to lead 6-3.
Third Quarter:
The Cobras stretched their lead to 8-3 before a string of goals by Eric George cut the deficit to 8-6.
Coker scored seven of the next eight goals as Eric George managed a man-down goal to trail 15-7.
Fourth Quarter:
Noah Jalal scored two goals off assists from Erik Dozzi and Jaxon Martin. Martin would tally a goal before finding Jalal for the final goal.

Chowan has a week to regroup as the Hawks host Young Harris in a non-conference match on Tuesday, February 28. Opening face-off is at 1pm.
