PETERSBURG, VA. – After making a run to take the lead, the Chowan Women's Basketball team was unable to finish off the upset as nationally-ranked Virginia State snapped the Hawks' winning streak with a 66-47 defeat in non-conference action on Saturday.

Imani Hickman posted a double-double with 16 points and a career-high 18 rebounds. Desiree Askew and Sydney Roberts posted seven points each. Roberts also added eight rebounds.
Chowan held Virginia State to 10.5% (2-19) from the floor in the second quarter, while Virginia State held the Hawks to 15.0% (3-20) in the fourth quarter.
The loss snapped Chowan's three game win streak.
