MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Basketball team could not overcome the cold shooting in the second half to take down Francis Marion in the Conference Carolinas opener for both sides on Saturday afternoon.

Daylan Askew poured in 24 points with 17 points in the first half before being heavily guarded in the second half.

Preston Le Gassick and Aaron Ross chipped in with 14 points each.  RJ Wilson grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds, while Cheick Traore grabbed 10 rebounds.

Chowan posted 12 rejections in the contest led by Skyler Davies with four blocks.

The Hawks shot 29.0% from the floor in the second half compared to 41.4% in the first half.
