MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's Lacrosse team ran out of gas against Mount Olive in Conference Carolinas action on Wednesday afternoon.

Eric George paced the Hawks with three goals and one assist. Jackson Downs, Jaxon Martin, Jason Jenkins II, and Harrison Buckman scored one goal each. Downs tallied two assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter:
Mount Olive opened the scoring with four straight goals before Jackson Downs found Eric George for the opening score for the Hawks.
The Trojans led 6-1 at the end of the opening 15 minutes.
Second Quarter:
The second period was more defensive as both sides had tallied one goal each for the first 14 minutes of the frame. Eric George returned the favor with an assist on a Jackson Downs goal.
Mount Olive scored a pair of goals with less than 10 seconds remaining to lead 9-2 at the intermission.
Third Quarter:
Harrison Buckman put the Hawks on the board in the second half, finding the back of the net off an assist from Erik Dozzi. Eric George scored an unassisted goal to cut the deficit to 10-4.
Jaxon Martin and Jason Jenkins II scored for the Hawks to cut the deficit to 11-6 late in the frame off assists by Noah Jalal and Jackson Downs.
UMO scored at the buzzer to lead 12-6.
Fourth Quarter:
The momentum continued for the Trojans scoring five quick goals before Eric George finished off the scoring for the Hawks.
UMO capped off the contest with three more scores to take the victory 20-7.
