MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's Lacrosse team saw their five game win streak come to a close against North Greenville in Conference Carolinas action on Saturday.

Jackson Downs paced the Hawks with four goals and two assists. Eric George recorded a hat-trick as Jaxon Martin, Erik Dozzi and Noah Jalal tallied two goals each.
Jaxon Martin, Erik Dozzi, and Jason Jenkins II posted one assist each. Alex Wildeboer led the defense with four caused turnovers. Derick Knighting, Camryn Snow, and Jaylen Pierre notched three caused turnovers each.
Alec Rodopolous tallied 15 saves in goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter:
Both teams swapped a goal early as Noah Jalal scored unassisted to put the Hawks on the board. The Crusaders scored three unanswered goals to lead 4-1 before Erik Dozzi found Jackson Downs.
Eric George scored on the man-up opportunity off the assist from Jackson Downs to cut the deficit to 5-3.
Second Quarter:
Jackson Downs and Eric George scored unassisted tallies to start the frame to even the score at 5-all.
Over the next six minutes, North Greenville scored six unanswered goals to take the momentum to lead 11-5. Erik Dozzi ended the scoring drought with an unassisted goal. Dozzi found the back of the net again off an assists by Jaxon Martin to cut the deficit to 11-7.
NGU would lead 14-7 at the intermission.
Third Quarter:
The Crusaders scored the opening three goals of the frame before Jackson Downs found Eric George for a tally. Jaxon Martin took a clear from Alec Rodopolous and found an empty net for an easy score. Martin would find the back of the net on the man-down opportunity to cut the deficit to 17-10.
NGU led 18-10 at the end of the period.
Fourth Quarter:
Following a pair of goals by NGU, Jackson Downs scored back-to-back goals prior to Noah Jalal scoring on an assist by Jason Jenkins II to finish off the scoring for the Hawks.

Chowan continues the homestand as the Hawks host Mount Olive during the week on April 6. Opening face-off is slated for 2pm.
