MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Lacrosse team was unable to gain traction in their final home game of the season falling to top-ranked Barton in league action on Wednesday afternoon.

Charity Brown, Grace Taylor, and Victoria Brown notched two goals each. Cameryn Barrow and Leia Cabradillia added one goal apiece. Both Brown's added one assist each.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter:
Neither side scored in the opening five minutes of the contest as Barton scored with 9:40 remaining in the opening frame. Just over a minute later, Charity Brown found the back of the net to knot the score at 1-all.
Barton added four goals in the remainder of the frame to lead 5-1.
Second Quarter:
Charity Brown found the back of the net to open up the second quarter scoring on a free position shot. Grace Taylor added a free position goal to cut the deficit to 5-3 midway through the frame.
Barton stretched their lead to 8-3 before the intermission.
Third Quarter:
Grace Taylor added an unassisted goal to open the second half before Charity Brown found Victoria Brown to cut the deficit to 8-5.
Cameryn Barrow notched a free position goal to trim the deficit to 8-6.
Barton answered with four goals in the final four minutes to lead 12-6.
Fourth Quarter:
Leia Cabradillia scored off an assist by Victoria Brown to start the frame, 12-7. Brown found the back of the net, unassisted, to close the gap to 12-8.
The Bulldogs finished off the scoring with six straight goals to take the victory, 18-8.

Chowan hits the road this weekend to take on North Greenville in a Conference Carolinas contest on Saturday, April 16. Opening draw control is slated for 12pm.
