MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Lacrosse team's second half rally came up short against St. Andrews in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon in a 14-13 loss at home.

Charity Brown recorded a school record five assists to go with two goals. Grace Taylor and Leia Cabradillia registered hat-tricks with five and four goals respectively. Cameryn Barrow and Brooke Woods-Pennell tallied one goal each.
Chowan outscored the Knights 9-5 in the second half. St. Andrews scored the game-winning goal with 1:33 remaining.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter:
St. Andrews opened the scoring with a pair of goals by Leia Cabradillia found the back of the net off an assist from Charity Brown.
Charity Brown and Grace Taylor scored unassisted goals to cut the deficit to 4-3 before trailing 5-3 at the end of the frame.
Second Quarter:
Grace Taylor found the back of the net off an assist from Charity Brown in a woman-down situation to cut the deficit to one, 5-4.
The Knights scored four unanswered goals to end the half to lead 9-4.
Third Quarter:
Grace Taylor opened the scoring in the frame off a helper from Charity Brown. Leia Cabradillia posted a woman-up goal before Charity Brown found the back of the net off an assist from Morgan Grosse to cut the deficit to 9-7.
St. Andrews stretched their lead to 11-7 before Leia Cabradillia scored a pair of goals on free position attempts to trail 11-9.
Fourth Quarter:
Once again, Grace Taylor opened the scoring for the Hawks in the frame, this time with a free position goal. Taylor would add another goal off an assist from Charity Brown to cut the deficit to one, 12-11, with 8:05 remaining.
Charity Brown found Brooke Woods-Pennell for the game-tying goal, 12-all, with 6:20 remaining before the Knights answered 40 seconds later to regain the lead, 13-12.
With 4:34 remaining, the score would be tied again as Cameryn Barrow scored off an assist from Grace Taylor.
Victoria Brown and Grace Taylor nearly gave the Hawks their first lead of the contest on free position shots but were unable to get past the Knights' keeper.
The Knights found the back of the net with 1:33 remaining to lead 14-13.
Morgan Grosse had a chance to knot the contest up once again, but was denied with 19 seconds remaining.

Chowan returns to the field on Wednesday, March 16 as the Hawks host William Peace in a rescheduled contest. Opening draw control is slated for 3:30pm.
