MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Lacrosse team cruised to their first win of the season with a 17-3 victory over William Peace at home on Wednesday.

Leia Cabradillia paced the Hawks with seven points recording four goals and three assists. Grace Taylor, Kyra Jones, Morgan Grosse, Brooke Woods-Pennell and Rebekah Lucas recorded two goals each. Lucas added two assists.
Charity Brown, Victoria Brown, Cameryn Barrow notched one goal each. Charity Brown added three assists and 10 draw controls.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter:
Kyra Jones opened up the scoring quickly in the contest scoring on a free position attempt just 66 seconds into the match.
Leia Cabradillia found the back of the net on an unassisted tally before Charity Brown found Brooke Woods-Pennell to put the Hawks up 3-0.
Morgan Grosse scored her first collegiate goal before Grace Taylor put the Hawks up 5-0.
Second Quarter:
Quickly in the period, Rebekah Lucas found Grace Taylor to open the scoring in the frame.
Leia Cabradillia scored off an assist from Rebekah Lucas before Lucas scored a goal of her own off an assist from Cameryn Barrow.
Charity Brown scored the final goal of the frame off an assist from Leia Cabradillia to lead 9-0 at the intermission.
Third Quarter:
William Peace would break up the shutout in the frame with a goal on a free position attempt.
The Brown connection between Charity Brown and Victoria Brown teamed up as Victoria Brown scored to lead 10-1.
Leia Cabradillia would give the Hawks a 10-goal differential with an unassisted tally before the Pacers found the back of the net for their second goal. Cabradillia put the Hawks above the threshold again after Charity Brown found Cabradillia for the goal to lead 12-2.
Cameryn Barrow gave the Hawks a 13-2 advantage in the waning seconds of the frame off an assist from Leia Cabradillia.
Fourth Quarter:
Kyra Jones scored her second goal of the contest in the free position area before Brooke Woods-Pennell found Morgan Grosse for a tally to lead 15-2.
The Pacers added a goal before the Hawks finished off the scoring. Brooke Woods-Pennell scored on a free position goal before Leia Cabradillia found Rebekah Lucas for the final goal to take the victory 17-3.

Chowan opens up Conference Carolinas action on Saturday, March 19 as the Hawks take on Southern Wesleyan. Opening draw control is slated for 12pm.
