MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Lacrosse team suffered a 15-7 loss in their home opener against Catawba on Saturday afternoon.

Charity Brown posted two goals and one assist to lead the Hawks. Cameryn Barrow tallied three points with one goal and two assists.
Grace Taylor chipped in with two goals, while Naila Smith and Gracie Timken tallied one goal each. Leia Cabradillia and Morgan Grosse posted one assist each.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter:
Catawba posted two goals in the opening period of the contest. Grace Taylor posted two shots on frame that were saved.
Second Quarter:
The Indians pushed their advantage to 4-0 before Cameryn Barrow found Grace Taylor for the opening tally for the Hawks.
Morgan Grosse found Charity Brown for a goal to cut the deficit to 5-2.
Catawba finished off the period with the goals to lead 8-2.
Third Quarter:
Charity Brown returned the favor in the period finding Cameryn Barrow for a goal. Charity Brown scored a man-down goal before Catawba pushed their lead to 13-4 at the end of the frame.
Fourth Quarter:
Grace Taylor posted a goal in the frame off an assist from Cameryn Barrow. Gracie Timken scored an unassisted tally before Leia Cabradillia found Naila Smith for the final tally of the contest.
