TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The Chowan Women's Basketball team rallied back to defeat North Greenville in overtime to get revenge on the Crusaders in league action on Saturday.

Aniah Patterson tallied a career-high 23 points along with five rebounds, six assists, and four steals. Monique Jones scored 18 points in 21 minutes, while Destiny Robinson and Demetria Bland chipped in with 11 points.
Chowan trailed 42-34 at the half.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter:
The Hawks and Crusaders traded points in the early portion of the period as Keibra Hopkins tallied four straight points to even the score at 8-all.
NGU went on an 11-3 run before Destiny Robinson tallied a layup and Aniah Patterson posted a three-point play to trail 19-16 at the end of the opening stanza.
Second Quarter:
Aniah Patterson tallied the first four points in the frame for the Hawks as NGU led 28-20. Tyayasia Sharpe added a jumper along with a basket by Patterson to spark a rally. Olivia Gaither connected from deep to cut the deficit to two, 29-27.
NGU scored the final eight points from the stripe despite six points by Monique Jones. The Crusaders led 42-34 at the half.
Third Quarter:
Aniah Patterson sparked an 8-0 run out of the locker room to even the score at 42-all. Destiny Robinson added a pair from the stripe before Monique Jones and Demetria Bland connected from the floor.
Monique Jones scored the next four points prior to back-to-back triples by Aniah Patterson and Olivia Gaither handed the Hawks a 52-46 advantage. Patterson connected from deep again as NGU rallied to even the score at 56-all after 30 minutes.
Fourth Quarter:
Demetria Bland and Destiny Robinson scored for the Hawks to open up the period to lead 65-58. The Crusaders chipped away at the Hawks' lead from the stripe.
The Crusaders would go on a run in the final 2:32 of regulation following a free throw by Demetria Bland to once again even the score.
The Hawks had a chance to seal the victory in regulation from the line. NGU went 1-2 from the stripe with 4.1 remaining to even the score at 74-all.
Overtime:
Jahkeria Bagby scored the first four points for the Hawks to take a 78-76 lead. Aniah Patterson knocked down a triple with less than a minute to go to put the Hawks up six, 82-76.
Chowan finished off the contest at the line for the 85-80 victory.
