GREENEVILLE, TENN. – The Chowan Men's Lacrosse team dropped a non-conference tilt against Tusculum despite three Hawks recording hat-tricks in the 20-15 loss on the road on Saturday afternoon.

Jaxon Martin led the Hawks with his first hat-trick of the season with six goals. Eric George also tallied a hat-trick with five goals, while Jackson Downs produced three goals. Martin, Downs, and Jason Jenkins II added an assist. Erik Dozzi recorded four points with one goal and three assists.
Eric George's hat-trick was the third fastest (14:08) to start a contest.
Alec Rodopoulos took the loss in goal with four saves. Nathan Woodhill collected seven saves in the second half.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter:
Chowan would take an early 2-0 lead as Jaxon Martin and Eric George scored 22 seconds apart. Erik Dozzi collected an assist on the George tally.
Tusculum countered with five straight goals to lead 5-2 before the Hawks scored two unanswered to end the period. Eric George scored an unassisted tally before Jason Jenkins II found George for his third goal in the contest.
Second Quarter:
After a man-up goal by the Pioneers, Erik Dozzi scored an unassisted marker prior to six straight goals by Tusculum.
Jaxon Martin scored an unassisted goal to cut the deficit in half, 12-6. Jackson Downs found Eric George with less than 30 seconds remaining in the half to head into the locker room down 13-7.
Third Quarter:
Tusculum opened their lead to 17-7 midway through the quarter before Jaxon Martin scored an unassisted tally to spark a run for the Hawks. Martin scored a man-up goal off the assist from Erik Dozzi before Martin assisted Jackson Downs on a score. Downs finished the run with an unassisted goal, 17-11.
The Pioneers led 18-11 at the end of the period.
Fourth Quarter:
Eric George started the scoring for the Hawks in the period with an unassisted goal before Jackson Downs and Jaxon Martin followed suit. Erik Dozzi found Martin for a goal to cut the deficit to 19-15.
The Pioneers finished off the scoring with a goal to take the victory 20-15.
