MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's Basketball team posted their fifth straight home victory in a 93-75 victory over Erskine in Conference Carolinas action on Wednesday afternoon.

Christian Koonce paced the offense with 20 points on 8-14 shooting. Jay Estime picked up 14 points, while Isaac Hippolyte and Daylan Askew collected 11 points each.
Cheick Traore hauled in a team-high 11 rebounds. Skyler Davies added seven points, nine rebounds, and three blocks.
Chowan posted 21 assists on 31 made shots.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Chowan opened the contest up early on a 15-2 run in the first six minutes of the contest. Chase Barnett started the scoring with a jumper followed by a triple by Jay Estime in transition. Daylan Askew knocked down a trey before Erskine jumped on the board with a basket. Skyler Davies added a putback basket prior to a pair of freebies by RJ Wilson and a triple by Davies forced an Erskine timeout.
Christian Koonce added five points as the Fleet slowed the offense down, 20-10. Chase Barnett heated things up again to spark a 9-0 run. Jay Estime knocked down a pair from deep along with a 1-2 trip to the line from Daylan Askew to lead 29-10. RJ Wilson hit a three-pointer prior to a pair from the stripe by Skyler Davies.
Cheick Traore ended a two-minute drought with a layup. Isaac Hippolyte posted a layup along with a pair of freebies by RJ Wilson. Chase Barnett connected from deep before another pair of free throws by Wilson gave the Hawks a 45-25 lead at the break.
Second Half:
Daylan Askew scored the first seven points for the Hawks in the frame before Jay Estime, Preston Le Gassick, and Christian Koonce connected from deep. Estime hit an elbow jumper to push the lead to 63-37.
Christian Koonce scored 12 of the next 14 points for the Hawks as Cheick Traore added a putback basket during the Koonce run to extend the advantage to 77-51 with 9:17 remaining.
The Hawks would cruise to the end of the contest with the sizable lead with Isaac Hippolyte picking up nine points down the stretch.
