MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Chowan Softball could not continue the streak as the Hawks were grounded by the league leading Mount Olive Trojans in Conference Carolinas action on Tuesday.

Hannah Eden picked up two hits to lead the team. Kaitlin Brunelli and Jesse Gentry picked up one hit. Gentry tallied a RBI.
Megan Vincent sprinkled nine hits in the nightcap allowing one earned run.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One: Chowan 0, Mount Olive 11
Mount Olive opened up the scoring in the bottom of the first with three runs. The Trojans would add three more runs in the second inning to lead 6-0.
Hannah Eden broke up the no-hitter with a single down the third base line to lead off the fourth inning. Delaney Devor moved Eden over to second on a sac bunt before being left stranded.
The Trojans would run-rule the Hawks in the fifth finishing on a grand slam.
Game Two: Chowan 1, Mount Olive 2
Hannah Eden led off the contest reaching on an error. Delaney Devor followed suit but was left stranded.
Megan Vincent worked out of a jam in the first inning as two runners reached on hits with two outs.
In the third inning, Chowan loaded the bases but was unable to score as Hannah Eden reached on an infield single. Delaney Devor drew a walk and Serena Riley was hit by a pitch.
Vincent and the Hawks worked out of another jam in the fourth as the Trojans loaded the bases after a pair of lead-off base hits. Megan Vincent picked up a strikeout and a ground out to end the inning.
Chowan was able to get on the board in the top of the sixth inning as Kaitlin Brunelli singled up the middle and moved to second on the throw. Jesse Gentry singled up the middle to score the pinch-running Mary-Grace Crosby to lead 1-0.
The Trojans answered in the bottom of the inning scoring an unearned run following a lead-off single and sacrifice bunt.
UMO used small ball to plate the walk-off run in the seventh with a bunt single and a sac bunt before the game-winning base hit.
